Nicholas Bloom of Stanford University has recently published a NY Times article on the curret state of flexible\hybrid working. Some interesting points from it:
- Number of Americans swiping into the office 50% of levels in February 2020
- This trend is visible throughout the US
- Some employees equate hybrid working to an 8% pay riseMany dislike the process of getting to work more than their actual work
- Societal benefits: climate improved due to removing billions of commuting miles; families supported by freeing up parents' time
- New companies more amenable to flexible working compare with companies founded 20 years ago
The article itself is behind the NY Times paywall (here), but his comments on the subject are available on LinkedIn here.
